| Welcome to 5th Grade!! | |
| My name is Kari Vaclavik (vas-la-vick...no C sound, but rather an ssss sound :)) and this will be my 5th year teaching. That picture above is from my wedding. My family is extremely important to me. Since becoming a mother, I realize now more than ever how precious education is for children. I read with my son daily (and he is only 6 months old!), sing songs, and allow him to explore his world. I hope to continue to build his love of exploration and learning, and my hope is to help you (my students) do the same! Explore and learn daily!! My family is my life and they have always encouraged me to do my best, and I will also encourage all of my students to do the same! I student taught in a 6th grade classroom here at KIS and was lucky enough to be hired on as a full time teacher after long-term subbing here as well! I am very happy to be a part of the KIS community. Also at the school, I have coached cheerleading (4 times champions!), volunteered for the Mr. KIS pageant for two years, and participated in numerous other activities. I love to be involved with our school and community, and genuinely value and appreciate everyone we have here. I am part of an amazing team in the 5th grade here. I am partnered with Mrs. Gluck and between us we teach both science and math. Her students will come to me for math and my students will go to her for science. We both teach reading, language arts, and social studies to our individual homerooms. We follow the school rules of "Respect, Responsibility, and Safety", and model these as well as expect them from our students.
