Third Grade Music
September: I have enjoyed our first week of music class. We started our year with "The National Anthem" and I'm amazed at how much they have remembered from previous years. They are working on new vocabulary from the song and the story/author information. Please check out "Star Spangled Banner Links" on the far left.
October-December: Our first unit of the year will be about the Instruments of the Orchestra, the 4 families and identifying from sight and sound. Check out the link for SFS kids, Classic for Kids and the DSO to explore more about the families of instruments.

January We begin to play recorders. If you haven't gotten a chance to purchase a recorder, please send in $7 by cash or check (to KCS) to ensure your child receives one for the beginning of January. I apologize in advance for any pain this may cause. I have learned with experience that the sound and volume get much better after the first month. The play-along tracks and podcast lessons will be listed on the immediate left to practice with in January.-March:
