Help on Using AltaVista

To begin searching:
1. Click on the screen's typing bar with the mouse.
2. Type in your search phrase. Be careful with your spelling, and only use capital letters when you really need them.

• Put a two-word phrase in quotation marks. Example: "New England"

• If using two or more separate words or phrases that must be in your search, combine the phrases with the word and. Example: "New England" and weather

• If you do not want a term to show up in your searching, use the word not in front of a term you do not want. Example: UConn and sports not basketball
