Superintendent's Message

                                                                              Dear Friends of the Killingly Public Schools,

                As a school community we continue to extend our heartfelt sympathies to the families and community of Newtown that have lost so much in such a tragic way. The Killingly Public Schools will continue to work towards ensuring a safe and secure environment for our students and their dedicated teachers and staff members. I would like to thank you for attending or watching the proceedings of our School Safety and Security BOE meeting and providing essential public input. As we put our collective “heads together” I am confident that we will be proud of the work that we will accomplish on this topic.

          It is hard to believe that we are at the halfway point of school year. The focus for this office now must be on the important task of creating an effective and responsible budget for FY 14. I recognize the great need in all of our schools and at the end of the day we will be able to look back and say that the end result was “fair”. I look forward to this process and working with the town officials and our Board of Education to create the appropriate plan for the resources necessary for educating our children effectively.

I look forward to continue to see many of you at the performances and athletic events as well as community events here in Killingly. I have never been so proud as I was this past holiday season with the amount of concern and giving that I witnessed in this community. To say that staff, students, and the community went “above and beyond” would not do it “justice”!
