Welcome to Killingly Agriculture Education!!!
This program is designed for students interested in a career in agriculture or an agriculture-related field. Our curriculum emphasizes real world application of science, mathematics, technology and life skills such as public speaking, group problem solving and record keeping.
Our program serves the following towns: Killingly, Brooklyn, Putnam, Plainfield, Sterling Canterbury,Voluntown, Eastford, Pomfret, Griswold, Thompson and Woodstock. Tuition and transportation costs to attend the Agricultural Education program are paid by the sending town. We are a Connecticut School Choice option.
Killingly High School is a comprehensive public high school located in Killingly, CT. Most of our students pursue a college prep curriculum. Agricultural education courses are college prep weighted electives beginning sophomore year. We encourage students to take the most advanced level of academic courses they can handle to prepare them for any post-secondary option.
Students are accepted by application only, which are available from 8th guidance counselors or by accessing the "Program application" link to the left. Each November & December, agricultural education staff visit each 8th grade school from the above towns to present an informational program. An Open House for parents and students to visit our facility, speak with our students, and learn more about the program will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2012.
